AMM 2026: New Opportunities and Strategic Partnerships
Kazakhmys Smelting once again participated in the 16th Astana Mining & Metallurgy (AMM 2026) International Mining and Metallurgical Congress.
On June 11–12, Astana is hosting one of the industry's largest international forums, serving as a key platform for strengthening dialogue between government, business, and leading global experts in the mining and metallurgical sector.
Kazakhmys Smelting is represented at the congress by its General Director, Zhanibek A. Baigabelov, who is taking part in business meetings and panel discussions focused on the future development of the industry, production modernization, and international cooperation.
This year's congress has brought together more than 2,100 delegates from 16 countries. Participants are discussing key issues affecting the mining and metallurgical industry, including technological modernization, investment attraction, digital transformation, sustainable development, and the expansion of global partnerships.
On the opening day of the congress, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, delivered the keynote address at the plenary session, emphasizing the strategic importance of the mining and metallurgical industry to the country's economy, its investment potential, and the key priorities for the further development of Kazakhstan's industrial sector.
The AMM 2026 Exhibition features 69 companies from 15 countries, showcasing advanced technologies and innovative solutions in geological exploration, mining, metallurgy, environmental protection, industrial safety, logistics, mechanical engineering, and engineering services.
The congress also includes meetings between representatives of government agencies and leading companies from the United States, Canada, China, the European Union, Saudi Arabia, and other countries, aimed at strengthening international cooperation and fostering new business partnerships.
The central theme of AMM 2026 is "From the Depths to the Heights of Intelligence: Global Partnership for the Future of the Mining and Metallurgical Complex." The discussions focus on the development of critical mineral supply chains, the implementation of digital technologies, improving production efficiency, and expanding investment opportunities.
