The forum key event was the section session "Mechanical Engineering for the mining and metallurgical complex", moderated by Zhanibek Altynbekovich Baigabelov, CEO of Kazakhmys Smelting.
During the meeting, under his moderation, topical issues of industry development, including increasing the level of localization, reducing dependence on imported products and the introduction of modern technological solutions, were considered.
Zhanibek Altynbekovich noted:
"According to the international classification, Kazakhstan belongs to the so-called "elephant countries" - this means the presence of large deposits and significant resource potential. However, in the face of increasing competition, it is important not to stop and consistently develop mechanical engineering and technological competencies."
The section was attended by representatives of leading industry companies, including ERG, Kurylysmet, Borusan Cat Kazakhstan, Gateway, Komek Machinery Kazakhstan, as well as the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
During the discussion, special attention was paid to the dynamics of the Machinery industry development. It was noted that over the past five years, the volume of production has increased from 1.8 to 5.7 trillion tenge, and investments have increased sixfold. At the same time, there remains a need to further increase the growth rate and automation implementation.
Government support measures aimed at stimulating the industry development, including tax preferences for enterprises investing in research and development, as well as mechanisms for compensating equipment and logistics costs, were also announced during the forum.
The Forum became a platform for professional dialogue and exchange of experience, and contributed to the development of partnerships between industrial enterprises and engineering companies.
